Dental health after Halloween? Our timing couldn’t be better!

Here are a few tips from our friends at Palmetto Smiles in Lexington, SC:

• Brush for 2 minutes 2x per day, especially after last meal/snack before going to bed – make it fun!
• Floss or use a waterpik daily
• Visit your dentist regularly
• Limit frequent snacking between meals and brush after a snack when you do have one (this includes sugary drinks as well)…especially after a Halloween treat!
• Drink lots of water

As recommended by the AAPD, by 12 months of age, a child should be seen by a dentist every 6 months or according to a schedule recommended by the dentist, based on the child’s individual needs and susceptibility to disease.
