Train Up a Child – Continuing Series

Here at Chapin Pediatrics, we believe in the importance of providing care in an environment that encourages parents to “train up a child in the way they should go.” Once a month, we will highlight a Bible verse and words of wisdom from the parents of our patients. Today’s offering “Train Up a Child – Psalm 127” offers terrific insights!

Psalm 127:3-5 speaks to the blessings of having children.

“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.”
Aside from salvation, one of the greatest gifts from God is the blessing of having children. The love of a parent for his/her child is indescribable and perhaps gives us a small glimpse of the incomprehensible love that God has for His children through Christ.

Don’t you agree with Louise that having children and raising them is such a blessing? Being able to extend grace and love to them just as Christ does for us is an amazing opportunity to “train up our children.”
